Have you loved an avocado today?!
With the amazing benefits of avocados what is not to love?
I love avocados for several reasons. The nutrient-dense properties (contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals to your diet) coupled with the delicious creamy texture they offer make fresh avocados one of my favorite food choices.
Avocados are virtually the only fruit with monounsaturated fats. The smooth texture offers an excellent replacement for saturated fats without sacrificing flavor. Avocados can be substituted for butter in many baked goods. The high water content of avocados can create a softer, chewier, and less crumbly treat.
Avocados act as a “nutrient booster” by helping the body to better absorb fat-soluble nutrients from foods that are eaten with the fruit. Perfect to pair with seasonal squash or sweet potato for enhanced absorption of vitamin A.
A one ounce serving of the natural goodness will only set you back 50 calories and contains no cholesterol. Avocados are sodium free.
I enjoy eating avocados in a variety of ways. Below are a few of my favorite uses and recipes for avocados.
1. Cube small pieces of avocado and add to your favorite fruit or lettuce salad.
